Research Engineer | 2024 - present
Education
Bachelor's of Science in Computer Science | Montana State University | 2024
Background
I joined SSEL in 2023 as an undergraduate student. I was responsible for writing the
Comprehensive Performance Test (CPT) script and testing the flight software for the
small satellite REAL during preparation for its launch. When I graduated in 2024, I was hired full time
at SSEL as a Research Engineer responsible for the software engineering team. Since
then, I’ve worked on data analysis and visualization for a number of missions as well
as set up a database to store our science data for the professors we work with to
use. I’ve utilized micro controllers to create testing tools to verify functionality
of our instruments and spacecraft. In addition, I’ve worked on creating user interfaces
and automation for our ground station software.
I work closely with our software students to teach and mentor them, augmenting their
learning by providing opportunities to use the skills they’ve learned in class on
interesting space projects. We also teach them organizational and teamwork skills
that come with working together to write code.
In my free time, I enjoy playing video and board games with my friends and reading
fantasy novels.
